Warp sizing materials (also called textile sizing agents or chemicals) are fillers or glazes used to protect the yarn. These include water soluble polymers such as modified starch, polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC), and acrylates. Yarn type (cotton, polyester, linen), yarn thickness, and weaving machinery type determine the sizing recipe.
